Introduction
A Drakewell client had an opportunity for work with an operator. Neither company was familiar with each other. In a challenging market and a non-standardized directional service market, our client was able to provide additional details to the engineer than was originally requested in order to illustrate their willingness to be transparent about their experience and have data-centric conversations about why our client was making the BHA recommendations they were.
Challenge
A potential client requested the following from a Drakewell client for all of 2019 and to date:
- Motors: Total runs, hours, footage, and failures broken down by well section, motor size, and configuration.
- MWD: Total runs, hours, footage, and failures broken down by well section
Before Drakewell, the service company had to compile all of this data manually, job by job, BHA by BHA using a job file database, performance spreadsheets, and incident reports for motors and another for MWD.

Solution
