Drakewell Realtime

We’re excited to announce Drakewell Realtime launching in Q2 2018. Read on to see what it is, how it works, why it’s exciting, why your customers will care, and how to turn start using it. (Realtime is now live and available! Learn more here .)

What is it & what does it do

Drakewell Realtime is a tool to capture EDR data from the rig and send it in near real time to the cloud. Within a Job in Drakwell users can then see near real time EDR data in an easy to use dashboard where ever they are and on any device.

Remote operations centers, coordinators at the office, survey and drilling consultants, and even your customer’s Drilling Engineers (with the soon to be released Customer Portal [Link to Blog]).

Drakewell makes sure the EDR data can be correctly associated with all of your other job data including BHA runs, Assets downhole, On job Activities, and more.

How it works

With permission from the Operator, MWD engineers at the rig use a lightweight and simple application to gather EDR data from the rig. This application then sends the data up to scalable cloud infrastructure which stores all the records.

In Drakewell a new tab is available on each Job called Realtime. Users with the right access can configure hundreds of different dashboard combinations to see data exactly how they want. This data is then updated on the dashboard in near real time directly from the rig.

Why it’s exciting

Why it’s exciting today:

  • 1. Drakewell can not only gather job data your field personnel enter, it can also gather EDR data that’s perfectly matched to your hand entered information.
  • 2. You will increase the performance of and level of safety on your Jobs by seeing what your field personnel are doing and the direct effects on downhole parameters in near real time and in detail.
  • 3. You can have Operational data gathering and EDR data gathering in one platform.
  • 4. You can enable Remote Operational centers using Drakewell.

Here’s why it will be exciting for you as you gather data:

  • 1. With the soon to be released Drakewell Analytics you will be able to analyze Job and Asset performance using fine grained EDR information.
  • 2. You will be able to analyze trends using operational and EDR data in one platform that’s been built for big data.

  • 2. As the Drakewell team rolls out advanced analytics with machine learning, you will be able to offer your customers higher levels of performance and safety through predictive analytics.

How do I turn it on

Turning on Drakewell Realtime is as easy as contacting your Drakewell representative. We will enable it in your Drakewell environment. From there you can enable Realtime per Operator in Drakewell, allowing you to control which jobs can use Realtime based on the operator permissions you’ve received.

Contact your Drakewell representative for pricing availability, and access to these exciting new features!

Customer Portal

We’re excited to announce the first version of the Drakewell Customer Portal is coming soon. Read on to see what it is, how it works, why it’s exciting, why your customers will care, and how to start using it.

What it is & what it does

After decades of paper, emails, and post job reports the Drakewell Customer Portal brings customer communication into the digital age by giving you the ability to share certain job information with your customers in real time and on any device.

Your customer’s drilling engineers will rejoice the first time they click the secure link and pull up real-time information about a job from their smartphone. Drakewell’s Customer Portal provides your customers with a real-time look into job summary and job details anytime they want and from wherever they are.

This includes:

  • Job Summary Information
  • BHA Summary Information
  • Job Performance Visualizations
  • Directional Information
  • 2D Plot
  • 3D Plot
  • Daily Activities
  • Drakewell RealTime (if available for the job)

How it works

Any person you have added to the job contact list can get a unique sharing link. By simply clicking share next to their contact information, Drakewell will generate a unique sharing url and automatically email that url to the contact’s email address.

By clicking “stop sharing” you can revoke access for that url. Sharing jobs is now as easy as sharing a file with Dropbox.

Why it’s exciting

As your customers demand more data delivered faster, we’re working hard to provide you the tools to accommodate their needs. The Drakewell Customer Portal is a value add to your customers, one we know they will quickly have a hard time living without.

In addition to sharing with customers, other third party contacts like engineers and contract geologist will find the portal useful.

How do I turn it on

When the customer portal launches all you need to do is click the share button in the Job contact list. The Drakewell Customer Portal will available on every job.

The Drakewell Customer Portal is our first step to improving the sharing ecosystem in the oilfield. We hope you and your customers love the ease of sharing information.

Drakewell Analytics

What is it & what does it do

Drakewell Analytics is a front-end application into which all of the data captured in your Drakewell instance flows. Analytics can help you answer questions like “what is my revenue as of an hour ago?” to “what are the minimum and maximum temperatures my tools have seen in the past six months?” to “what is my ROP in the curve in Reagan County?” in near real-time.

How it works

Basic Analytics include critical information about your business like total footage drilled, BHA runs, incidents, daily revenue, or cost per foot, all filterable by date, customer, etc.

Advanced Analytics dig deeper into operational performance. These would include visualizations showing slide and rotate footage by well section, filterable by customer, for example. They also show incidents or drilling and circulating hours by motor vendor, etc. Advanced Analytics also allows users to skip the exporting and pivoting and get right to tinkering with your own data and build any visualization or dashboard you like.

Custom Analytics are visualizations, charts, tables, graphs that, for a one time charge, Drakewell builds for you, deploys to your Analytics instance, and then exists forever in real time. If there is something specific that you’d like to see, we can build it for you!

Why it’s exciting

Crunching and scrubbing data is over! Making data driven decisions in real time pays dividends when it comes to operational and company performance. Smart people should be spending their time trying to understand how to add more value to your client’s businesses, not making sure states names are spelled correctly so they’ll pivot well.

Why we are offering Drakewell Analytics

We’re offering Analytics because people spend too much time doing work that software should do for them. They spend days every month building revenue spreadsheets. They spend days or weeks building quarterly KPI presentations. The problem is, every month or quarter, these presentations or spreadsheets need to be rebuilt manually. The process is basically the same. The KPI’s are similar. Software can handle this. We built Drakewell to end data scrubbing and we built Analytics to end the repetitive and seemingly endless building graphs and charts for presentations. Drakewell captures and processes the data. Drakewell Analytics crunches and visualizes the data for you.

Let’s say you do a quarterly KPI presentation for a client. Each quarter, you export a bunch of data and spend the next week fiddling with it. Building charts, graphs, etc. to paste into a powerpoint presentation.

With Analytics, those charts or graphs are built once. The data is continuously fed to them. When quarterly KPI presentation time comes around again, you filter the data in Analytics, screenshot the charts and graphs in your presentation and you’re done. These should take a few hours each quarter, not several days.

How do I turn it on

Basic Analytics is included with your Drakewell subscription.

For Advanced or Custom Analytics, contact Drakewell. The pricing structure for these options is a flat monthly subscription fee that can be paid annually or monthly.
